Connecting with Other Dads

Where can I find other dads in my area to connect with and share experiences?

Only having my little girl on the weekends, my social life definitely shifted. It’s not always easy to find time for yourself, let alone for building new friendships.

For me, connecting with other dads has been a game-changer. I’ve found a lot of value in dad groups – sometimes they’re online, but even better are the ones that meet up in person. We’ll head to a park with the kids, or maybe grab a coffee while the little ones are distracted. It’s amazing to share stories and realise you’re not alone in the parenting rollercoaster, especially when you’re doing it solo for a good chunk of the week.

I also stumbled into connections through her daycare. There are a couple of other dads I now go for early morning runs with a few times a week. It’s a quick blast of exercise, and then we grab a coffee. It’s a really efficient way to get some adult interaction before the day properly kicks off. It’s not like the old days of spontaneous nights out, but these connections are genuinely meaningful. It’s about finding those little windows and making the most of them!

And so far DadNet seems to be helping me too
